DISSERTATION AND THESIS DEGREE SUPERVISORS

Below is a list of UMass faculty and visiting faculty who are named as degree supervisors on University dissertations and theses from May 2014 on.

• A supervisor's name with an external link will lead to his or her appropriate Library of Congress Authorities page.
• If the supervisor does not have an entry in the LC Authority file, the Thesis/OCLC column will note whether the supervisor has a thesis and/or records in OCLC.
• The supervisor's primary department is listed.
• The form of name used on a supervisor's UMass website is noted if the supervisor does not have a LC Authority file.
• Notes will give any other form of name found whether in OCLC, in publications or on multiple UMass website pages.
• Decisions will need to be made by a NACO cataloger on which form of name to establish. Any theses which name these particular supervisors will need to have their cataloging bib records checked in Connexion for the correct form before said records can be uploaded to OCLC.
• Some Name Authority Files will need to be created, some will need to be added to, and some may or may not be needed. These are at the discretion of the NACO cataloger.
