UMass Amherst Libraries Host Closing Reception for “Our Common Ground” Exhibit in Partnership with Building Bridges

The UMass Amherst Libraries will host a closing reception for the exhibit, “Our Common Ground,” on Thursday, December 19, 3:30-5:30 p.m., in the Science and Engineering Library, Lederle Graduate Research Center Lowrise, UMass Amherst. The reception is free and open to all, with refreshments and live music by the UMass Unions United Labor Chorus, founded by a group of workers at UMass with a goal of building solidarity with and through song.

“Our Common Ground” is a UMass Worker Artist Exhibition presented by the Partnership for Worker Education and the Building Bridges Public Art and Engagement Initiative. Showcasing the work of seventeen UMass worker artists, the exhibit highlights how the care for Mother Earth and for each other is expressed through creative practice.

Building Bridges is a collaboration among the Partnership for Worker Education, Human Resources, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and Civic Engagement and Service Learning. It draws on the power of solidarity and creative expression to bring people together and create a bridge across difference.
