UMass Amherst Libraries Announce Science and Engineering Library Fall 2023 Exhibit, “Making a World of Difference: Stories about Global Health”
The UMass Amherst Libraries announce the fall 2023 exhibit, Making a World of Difference: Stories about Global Health, in the Science and Engineering Library, Lederle Lowrise, through January 6, 2024. A reception will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 3-5 p.m., in the Science and Engineering Library Learning Studio.
The first part of the exhibit, through October 7, features the National Library of Medicine’s traveling exhibit guest curated by public historian and educator Ashley Bowen, PhD (editor of Perspectives on History), produced by The National Library of Medicine. The exhibition and companion website tell stories of people who work on a wide range of issues—from community health to conflict, disease to discrimination—to improve health in their areas and beyond. Around the world, communities, in collaboration with scientists, activists, governments, and international organizations, are taking up the challenge to prevent disease and improve quality of life.
Although the traveling exhibit ends Oct 7, the work of UMass Amherst researchers in Global Health will continue to be displayed through January 6, 2024.
