Massachusetts Maps

The Map Collection's maps of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: recent and historic USGS topographic quadrangles, satellite and aerial photo images, county soil surveys, remote sensing land use maps, flood insurance maps, geoscience thematic maps, travel and recreation maps.

Connecticut Valley Urban Area Project: environmental, geologic and hydrologic studies of the Connecticut River Valley. A USGS thematic quadrangle series of maps depicting the Connecticut River Valley and adjacent areas in Massachusetts, Connecticut, southern New Hampshire and Vermont.

Historic Maps of Massachusetts: nearly 1,000 historic maps and atlases depicting the state and its regions, counties, cities and towns.  Many of these historic maps include pictorial views or reflect specialized subject areas such as topography, transportation, roads, tourism, historic sites, commerce, census information, property division and ownership, and political boundaries.  More historic Massachusetts maps are among the early USGS topographic quadrangles dating from the late 1890's.  In addition the Collection holds digital historic maps of Franklin, Hampshire, Plymouth and Worcester Counties.

Many of the Collection's Massachusetts maps and atlases can be found in the Library's online catalog including the more recent USGS topographic quadrangles.  Subject search "Massachusetts Maps".  Title search "topographic maps of Massachusetts"
